Separating? Let's work out what happens to the house.
Splitt helps you see where you stand on the home and money, whether you're going through it on your own or working it out together. Start with a free, private borrowing check. Nothing you type leaves your device.
For people in England and Wales. Illustrative guidance only, not advice.
Made for the "what now?" moment
- You're separating and you own a home together. Married, in a civil partnership, or living together.
- You're doing it on your own. You want to understand your options privately, at your own pace.
- You're doing it together. You're both trying to keep things calm and fair, and want the same facts in front of you.
- You're in England or Wales. The law and process are different in Scotland and Northern Ireland, so we're starting here.
Not a homeowner? We're building for you too. Tell us what would help.
Could I keep the house, or buy on my own?
Answer a few questions about your own income and outgoings. We'll show you an illustrative range for what lenders typically consider on one income. It isn't a real figure from a lender, and it isn't advice.
It takes about 3 minutes. We don't store or send anything you enter.
Your illustrative range will appear here.
Everything is worked out on your device. Nothing you enter is saved or sent.

Important
Splitt provides general information and illustrations only. It isn't legal advice, financial advice or mortgage advice, and it doesn't recommend any lender, product or course of action. Lenders each use their own criteria, and what you can actually borrow depends on a full assessment by a lender or a qualified mortgage adviser. For legal questions, including how your home and money should be divided, speak to a family solicitor or mediator.
Splitt isn't a law firm, a mortgage broker or a lender, and isn't authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority.
The figures in the borrowing checker use Splitt's own illustrative assumptions (4 to 4.5 times income, and example interest rates of 5% and 7%), based on published public sources. They are not any lender's criteria. Some lenders offer higher multiples to some people.
